Festive February...

Dear K-PM Parents,

We have a few students celebrating their Birthday this month.  Therefore, I'd like to answer some FAQ/ Frequently Asked Questions!  If you'd like to bring something to eat and share on your child's birthday, please assure it is Peanut/Nut Free.  This can be brought in when your child arrives to school in the afternoon.

Our month has started off with new centres that are structured in groups of two and include cooperative learning roles, also known as our «Jobs/Rôles».  We have the A - Captain/Chef and the B/C - Helper/l'aide and the Timer/Garde-temps! 

Our new centres are known as the Mini Winter Centres/ Les mini centres d'hiver!

January In Review...

Dear K-PM Parents,

First of all, I want to thank you for attending the Tri-Conference on Thursday evening. This was a special time to have students share some of their learning «en Français»!

January was a return to routines, and our study of winter themed vocabulary. We worked on listening to stories about Winter/l'hiver, Snowmen/Bonhommes de neige, Getting Dressed/ Je m'habille... This particular mini book took several days to complete, as we worked 1-1, on sentences, words, letters: capitals and lowercase, and punctuation: the period and the exclamation mark/point!

            

    

We studied Winter poems by listening to rhyming words and highlighting them on the sheets.

«Le Calendrier» / calendar activities include many math concepts that we cover dally.

We continued to explore new centers during our play time, learn to socialize, problem solve, speak, listen, write, be creative, count and color to name a few skills that are practiced!
