Dear K-PM Parents,
We've been quite busy since the beginning of March! We have finished our rotations of mini-centres and all the children are looking forward to the new set. The students have enjoyed the learning activities, while learning new responsibilities. The cooperative jobs of Captain, Helper and Timer lended themselves well to the smaller groups of 2's.

The next theme for our mini-centres are going to be «Les moyens de tranports»/ Transportation Modes. This time I will try with groups of three! We will work on Math concepts of: patterning (creating, continuing, identifying), counting (identifying 1-10 sets, creating sets of 1-10), area/ surface/ art( creating a vehicle using pattern blocs, covering a transportation picture using small squares of tissue paper). Fine motor skills/ Art continue to be an important part of all our mini-centres. We will work on printing, reading, drawing and using scissors to cut, while learning the Français/ French words for different modes transportation: air, land and water ways! As part of our Science goals, we will measure (using cubes, meter rulers) make predictions, of the distance travelled by our vehicles from a ramp! Then, creating a bar graph to compare vehicles with distance travelled! Should be fun :)
